Introduction

Juicer offers built-in moderation and filtering features to help you control the content displayed in your social media feed. This tutorial will guide you through using these powerful tools.

πŸ”‘ Key Points:

  • All paid Juicer plans include full moderation and filtering capabilities.
  • The users on our Free plan can try these features for one week. If you still don't have an account, get it easily at juicer.io/sign-up.

The "Moderate and Filter" Panel

To access moderation features:

  1. Go to your Juicer dashboard
  2. Click the "Moderate and Filter" button in the left-side menu

πŸ“Œ Note: The button will display "Off" if no filters are enabled, and "On" if any are active.

Switching Between Public and Moderated Posts

Use the tab switch at the top of the panel to view:

  • Public Posts: Currently live in your feed
  • Moderated Posts: Blocked and awaiting review

The Moderation Queue

For maximum control, enable the "Send All Posts to Moderation" feature.

Send All Posts to Moderation
When enabled:

  • All new posts go to the Moderated Posts section
  • You must manually approve posts for the live feed

Approve or Reject Posts
  1. Options to Approve or Reject moderated posts. Browse through the Moderated Posts and click β€œApprove” or β€œReject.”
  2. If you want to clean out this section, you can also click the red β€œApprove All” or β€œReject All” buttons at the top.

Automating Your Moderation/Filtering

Use these fields to automate content filtering.

Disallow and Allow Fields
  • Fields for disallowing or allowing specific words.

When to use "Disallow posts with these words":
  • Block specific users posting unwanted content
  • Filter out posts from unrelated groups using your hashtag
When to use "Only allow posts with these words":
  • Display only posts with certain terms or hashtags
  • Show posts containing multiple specific hashtags
πŸ” Pro Tip: Filters are case-insensitive, so don't worry about capitalization.

The Profanity and Duplicate Post Blockers

Simple checkboxes to prevent unwanted content.

Profanity and Duplicate Blockers
Checkboxes for blocking profanity and duplicate posts

  • Don't allow posts with profanity: Uses an extensive library of inappropriate words
  • Prevent Duplicate Posts: Blocks posts with identical text from different sources

πŸ“Œ Note: Duplicate post removal occurs approximately once per hour.
πŸ” Pro Tip: To prioritize a source for duplicate posts, drag and drop sources in the 'Social Media Sources' section of the sidebar to set the order.

Saving Your Filters

Always click "Save your Filters" after making changes.

You'll have the option to apply changes to:

  • Only new posts going forward
  • Existing posts (last 1000)

Setting Filters for Specific Sources

To set filters for individual sources:

  1. Click the source in "Social Media Sources" panel
  2. Select "Set Moderation Filters"

Source-Specific Filters and its Options
Setting filters for a specific source allows for the filters to be applied only to that source. The standard filters we showed previously are applied to all sources.

❗ Important: By default, source-specific filters apply only to new posts. To apply to existing posts, use the main "Save your Filters" button.

Approving and Rejecting Moderated Posts

Moderated posts are sorted into categories:

  • All: Every post in moderation (except rejected)
  • Filter: Blocked by word filters
  • Profanity: Blocked by profanity filter
  • Manually Deleted: Removed from Public Posts
  • Moderation Queue: Awaiting review (if "Send all posts to moderation" is enabled)
  • Rejected: Previously rejected posts (can still be approved)

Getting Notifications

Enable email notifications for new posts:

  1. Go to Account Settings
  2. Enable notifications for new posts or posts awaiting approval

Pro Tip: Efficient Moderation

To streamline moderation when using "Send All Posts to Moderation":

  1. Set up other filters first (e.g., profanity, disallowed words)
  2. Enable "Send All Posts to Moderation"
  3. Work from the "Queue" section of Moderated Posts
❗️Important: Enabling β€œSend All Posts to Moderation” disables other filters. To simplify approval, enable other filters first to keep them active and avoid sorting through unwanted posts.
