New Instagram Username API

Instagram has closed down their old username API, so you will need to reconnect any Instagram username tokens you have on your "Connected Social Accounts" page. Here is what you should know and how to get that configured.

Instagram provides posts to services like Juicer through an API. The older API that provided username posts to Juicer has been closed down. So, you must connect to the new Instagram API. You will do this once for each Instagram username you are displaying on your social wall(s).

To connect to the new API, you must re-establish any Instagram tokens you have on your "Connected Social Accounts" page:

  1. Go to Instagram.com and log out, if your browser is logged in. (this is critical so that you don't connect the wrong Instagram account. Please note: If you are entering multiple Instagram connections to Juicer, you must log out of Instagram again after each successful addition.)
  2. Go to juicer.io/social-accounts, click the + icon under the header "Instagram usernames", and enter the login details for your various Instagram source accounts. If you still had connections to the old, legacy API, you may see them as expired under a "legacy API" section.

  3. Once you have logged in to your Instagram account you will be asked about which permissions to grant to the application, it is important to allow Media access to the Juicer app. This permission lets Juicer import Instagram photos from your Instagram account to the Juicer feed, even though Instagram sometimes says it's optional, it is necessary for Juicer to work.Screen_Shot_2022-01-10_at_12.29.28_PM.png
  4. After your refresh occurs (based on your plan), your Instagram sources in your social feed should pull in your latest posts as they usually do.
