If your organization is tax-exempt (for example, a US nonprofit with an EIN), you can submit your tax ID and exemption certificate so that future Juicer invoices reflect your tax-exempt status. Here's how to set it up.
Add your Tax ID in billing settings
First, you'll need to add your Tax ID (EIN for US entities) to your billing information. Follow the steps in our How to update your payment and billing details article—specifically the "Updating Billing Details" section. Make sure to enter your company name, address, and Tax ID.
Submit your exemption certificate
Adding your Tax ID alone does not automatically apply tax-exempt status. To complete the process, you need to email your tax exemption certificate to [email protected].
Please include in your email:
Your EIN or Tax ID number
A copy of your tax exemption certificate (e.g., IRS determination letter, state exemption certificate)
The email address associated with your Juicer account
Our team will verify the certificate and update your account. Once applied, future invoices will reflect your tax-exempt status.
⚠️ Important: Tax exemption only applies to future invoices. Past invoices that have already been charged with tax cannot be retroactively adjusted.
Outside the US? Submit a VAT ID
If your country requires VAT registration, you don't need to email an exemption certificate—just enter your VAT ID in the Tax ID field when updating your billing details. Stripe validates it automatically and applies the correct tax treatment (for example, reverse charge for EU businesses).
What happens after?
Once your exemption certificate is verified, Stripe will mark your account as tax-exempt.
All future invoices and charges will exclude sales tax.
You can view your updated tax status and download invoices anytime from your Billing Settings page.
Troubleshooting
I don't see the Tax ID field in Stripe—The Tax ID field appears based on your country and region. If you don't see it, try updating your billing address first and saving, then look for the Tax ID option.
I submitted my certificate, but tax is still being charged—Please allow 1-2 business days for our team to process your exemption. If the issue persists, reach out to [email protected].
