Giphy sources – Adding and troubleshooting

Add a Giphy search query as a source in your Juicer feed to pull in the top 50 matching GIFs.

You can add a Giphy search query as a source in your Juicer feed. Juicer will import the first 50 GIFs that match the search term you enter, the same set you'd see at the top of the Giphy search results page. For example, entering nasa imports the first 50 results from https://giphy.com/search/nasa.

Add a Giphy source

  1. On your feed dashboard, click + Add source and select Giphy.

  2. Enter your search term. A single word or short phrase works best, for example, or a brand name.

  3. Save the source. Juicer will pull the first 50 matching GIFs and add them to your feed.

How updates work

Giphy sources import a static set of the top 50 matching GIFs at the moment the source is added. They don't keep adding new GIFs over time. To refresh the set, edit the source and re-save the search term, or remove the source and add it again. You can also add a more specific search term as a second source to broaden the mix.

Troubleshooting

  • No results. Try a broader term or check for typos. Searches are case-insensitive.

  • Too many irrelevant GIFs. Use a more specific phrase, for example, NASA Moon instead of just NASA.

  • The same GIFs keep showing. Remove the source and add it again to pull a fresh set of 50.

  • Source won't save. Check that your plan allows another source. See the pricing page for source limits per plan.

If your Giphy source isn't pulling in the GIFs you expect, contact us with the feed name, the exact search term you entered, and a link to the equivalent Giphy search results page, and we'll take a look.
