What the "Needs attention" marker on your dashboard means

Learn why a feed shows Needs attention on your dashboard and how to open the Sources panel to find and fix the source that stopped updating.

Written by Mario T.

When one of your feed sources breaks, the feed list on your dashboard shows a Needs attention link instead of the usual install status. This article explains what triggers it and how to fix the source.

What the marker means

The marker appears next to a feed when one of its sources recently stopped updating and needs something from you, for example a source term that can no longer be found, an invalid RSS address, or a connection that has not been set up. It replaces the install status for that feed until the problem is resolved.

The marker only covers sources that broke recently. Sources that have not synced for a long time, or that are blocked by your plan, are not flagged on the dashboard, but they still appear inside the feed editor.

How to find and fix the source

  1. On your dashboard, click Needs attention next to the feed.

  2. The feed editor opens with the Sources panel on the Needs attention tab. The number next to the tab name shows how many sources need you.

  3. Hover over the status label next to the source name (for example Needs attention or Expired) to read what is wrong and how to fix it.

  4. If the source shows Expired or Expires, click Reconnect and sign in again. If it shows Not connected, click Connect. Otherwise, correct the source details.

  5. Use the All sources tab to see every source in the feed, including the ones that show Syncing.

Who can see the marker

On white-label accounts, the marker only appears for users who are allowed to manage sources, because it leads to the Sources panel.
