If you see broken Instagram images or posts for hashtags (blue boxes in your feed)

How to fix broken images on Instagram hashtag posts (blue boxes). New feeds are protected by Juicer's late-2025 re-scraping infrastructure; legacy feeds need a quick refresh.

Written by Mario T.

"Blue boxes" appear when Instagram revokes the signed image URL of a hashtag post before Juicer can serve it. As of late 2025 Juicer automatically re-scrapes those images, so new feeds shouldn't see this issue. Older feeds may still show broken images on hashtag posts that were imported before the fix went live.

What to do if you see blue boxes

If your feed was created before late 2025 and is showing broken hashtag posts, remove and re-add the affected source.

  1. Open your feed dashboard and find the affected Instagram hashtag source in the Sources panel.

  2. Remove the source.

  3. Add it again with the same hashtag. The new source uses the updated re-scraping infrastructure from the first sync.

โš ๏ธ Heads up, the broken posts that were already in your feed cannot be recovered. Once you remove the source, those specific images are gone for good, since Instagram won't re-issue the signed URLs. New posts that come in after re-adding will display normally.

If the broken posts are from your own @username source

For Instagram @username sources (as opposed to hashtag sources), Juicer can refresh post data normally. Check that your Instagram account is still connected and reconnect it if needed, see Adding or refreshing your Instagram connections. Also make sure embedding is enabled in your Instagram account's privacy settings on Meta's side, otherwise Instagram blocks third-party platforms like Juicer from rendering the media.

If blue boxes persist after removing and re-adding the hashtag source, contact us with the feed name, the hashtag involved, and a sample URL of a broken post, and we'll take a look.
