"400 Session Invalid" error – Instagram connection

A Meta-side authorization bug that blocks Instagram from connecting to Juicer Social. Toggling "Connect future activity" off and back on usually clears it.

Written by Mario T.

If you see a 400 Session Invalid error when connecting Instagram to Juicer Social, the error is happening on Instagram's authorization screen, before any data reaches Juicer. The fix lives in your Instagram account settings.

What is this?

An error that occurs on Instagram's side when you try to connect your Instagram account. It happens during Instagram's authorization process, before any data reaches Juicer, so the fix happens on your Instagram account.

How to fix

On Instagram, go to More → Settings → Meta Accounts Center (or click here), then Your information & permissionsYour activity off Meta technologiesManage future activity (or click here), then:

  • ⛓️‍💥 Choose "Disconnect future activity",

  • ⏱️ Wait a bit,

  • 🔗 Switch back to "Connect future activity".

Then try connecting Instagram to Juicer again.

⚠️ Can't find this setting?
Meta began retiring Your activity off Meta technologies in 2026, and the menu that holds it now reads either Accounts Center or Meta Account depending on your account. Don't substitute Activity from other businesses under Ad preferences, which only controls ad personalization and will not clear this error. See "Future Activity" Off Meta setting required to connect Facebook/Instagram accounts for what changed and where to look.

If that doesn't work

  • Log out of Instagram completely, wait 1 hour, log back in, then retry.

  • Try from a different device.

  • Try from a different network or location.

  • Wait a few hours — sometimes it's a temporary Instagram outage.

Why this happens

This is an Instagram/Meta infrastructure issue that affects multiple services across the industry, not just Juicer. It has been reported to Meta multiple times ¹ ² ³ , but there's no official fix or acknowledgment.

If the error persists after trying everything above, send us the exact error text, a screenshot of the connection prompt, the country your Meta account is registered in, and the Instagram username you're trying to connect through contact us.
